Where I am located: I have a home office in Oakland. I enjoy working remotely via email, phone, or chat, but I can meet in person at your location.

Do I have a license to do taxes: Yes, I am a Registered Tax Return Preparer with the IRS, and licensed at the state level with CTEC (California Tax Education Council).

How long have I been doing this: I started doing taxes professionally in 2002. I have had my own “tax practice” since 2005. I started out working for other tax preparation companies, including two years as a reviewer (the person who checks tax returns for errors) for a CPA firm.

Am I a Notary Public: No, I am not a notary.

Do I do other financial work besides tax preparation: Yes. I do non-profit and small business bookkeeping. I give workshops and presentations on tax issues, as well as non-profit financial organization and accounting systems and practices for artists and collectives. I am not a financial planner. I am not a CPA and thus am not legally accredited to perform external audits. And again, I am not a notary.

How much I charge: My fee depends on how much work I have to do and how complicated it is. I offer discounts to low-income clients, as well as loyalty discounts to clients I have served for several years. 

Average Rates:

consulting, bookkeeping: $40-50/hr.

individual income tax return: $125 – $350

partnership, S-Corp business return: $300
